I counted 415 chicks on the island at c. 16h00 today, but the mass of adult (and immature) Lesser Flamingos makes an accurate count almost impossible. I estimate that the actually number is between 1000 and 1500, but there could be more. There are still hundreds and hundreds of adults incubating eggs.


The images are taken from behind a viewing screen, more than 300 m from the front of the island. We are being very cautious not to disturb the breeding flamingos.
